HRA AGM 16 May (and speaker from Hersham Youth Club)

Hot off the press is that we now have a speaker for the AGM which I hope as many as possible will be able to attend at 7.30 at the WI Hall Burhill Road Hersham.  (All welcome whether or not you are currently a member of the HRA and irrespective of what political party you support if any – no entrance charge – just turn up!)

The speaker will be from Hersham Youth Club.  This youth club is really worth hearing about because it is unusual – the building is unconventional and perhaps so are some of the people who run it!!  Maybe that’s why it is so successful and over 8,000 visits are made to it every year.  If you live in Hersham you should come and find out about our unusual youth club – for example:

  • Where it is – (many people aren’t aware)
  • why it is so successful
  • who goes to it and why
  • who runs it
  • How they run it
  • why they run it
  •  and probably much more!

At the last HRA committee meeting on 24th April we agreed amongst other things to sponsor the Picnic in the Park event again this year [which takes place on the Vaux Mead 7 July pm] and also to donate to Hersham in Bloom.

We discussed a range of planning matters including the Weylands application – the committee understood the positive aspects of this application and the need to support recycling.  However it was felt that the HRA should again flag up the issue of potentially increased traffic affecting residents down the Molesey Road – these concerns were raised originally by the HRA in 2011.
