A team from Hersham won this event which attracted about 50 quizers.

Each table nominated themselves as Hersham or Walton teams – based on where most of the players live – about equal numbers of small teams from Hersham and Walton.

The top scoring Walton and Hersham teams in round 1 of general knowledge – each won a £25 prize!

The highest scoring Hersham team then played the highest scoring Walton team in a head to head round to decide whether Walton or Hersham would take the best local brains title and trophy.

One of the clincher questions was – which plant in our solar system has the highest mountain? How would you have scored on that one?
