Lawrence Jackman, Hersham

Lawrence Jackman, Hersham

With very great sadness, we regret to have to report the death of Lawrence Jackman at the weekend.
He died without warning at home in his sleep. He was 81.

Lawrence was such a vital force, and such a wonderful upbeat generous character, that his loss will be deeply felt by many of us in Hersham.

Lawrence, whether you knew him or not, affected all our lives locally for the better. He fought tirelessly for Hersham in planning matters, and was a key component in stopping the blight of much unwanted, inappropriate development.

He was on our side.

He had an artists eye, an architects understanding and vision and he could communicate clearly an informed and relevant view. He was also great fun, and excellent company.

We all learned from him.

Our thoughts and condolences to his family.
